Field Report – Sola

Full Blood Elkhound Female – Born March 3, 2026

Kayley × ARCO – Sixth‑Generation Kamia Working Lineage

Stewardship Placement: Laura & Nate – Southern British Columbia

Sola is emerging exactly as expected from a Kayley × ARCO daughter: confident, intelligent, fearless, and already showing the hallmark stability of the Full Blood Elkhound working architecture. At just a few months of age, she is demonstrating the same early composure and terrain intelligence that define her siblings Murdock and Larsen, and the same maternal‑dynasty depth that runs back through Kayley, Tora, and Rita.

Sola, stunning beauty, Full Blood Elkhound female 6th generation Kamia

Laura and Nate—long‑standing members of the Kamia Stewardship Program—have her in an ideal environment. Their earlier male, Coho, is from the same lineage, a Kai × Hachi son, and he provides the perfect older‑male mentorship for her development. The two dogs are a generational mirror: same instincts, same northern intelligence, same calm working presence.

This field report captures Sola’s first months in southern BC: real terrain, real wildlife, real off‑leash work, and the unmistakable Full Blood Elkhound behaviour that cannot be trained, only inherited.

Bear Encounter – The Hard “Don’t Come In” Message

One of the most telling early moments came in a video where Sola confronted a large black bear. Her response was textbook Full Blood Elkhound:

  • Hard bark cadence
  • Forward posture, no hesitation
  • Clear perimeter ownership
  • Zero panic, zero scatter, zero retreat

This is not bravado. It is the inherited northern architecture—calm, deliberate, and fully aware of her surroundings. She delivered the correct message: don’t come in. Even at her young age, she showed the same fearless composure that her brother Murdock displayed on his early bush hikes.

Off‑Leash Hiking – Working With Coho

Another video shows Sola hiking off leash with Coho, moving through southern BC terrain with confidence and natural range. She is already:

  • Reading terrain changes
  • Checking in voluntarily
  • Matching Coho’s pace and perimeter sweeps
  • Maintaining full handler focus without commands

This is the same instinct transfer we see across the Full Blood cohort: the Kayley × ARCO intelligence blending seamlessly with the Kai × Hachi stability in Coho. She is not following him—she is working with him, which is the correct developmental pattern.

Play‑Tough Development – Early Social Architecture

A third video shows Sola playing tough with Coho. This is not random puppy play; it is structured social learning:

  • She tests boundaries
  • He corrects appropriately
  • She adjusts instantly
  • Both remain calm, balanced, and connected

This is how Full Blood Elkhounds develop their adult working confidence. Coho is doing exactly what an older male should do—steadying her, shaping her, and reinforcing the correct behavioural architecture.

Life Shots – Southern BC

Laura and Nate have provided a beautiful set of photos that capture Sola’s early life in southern British Columbia. These are not staged images—they are real working‑line lifestyle shots that show her temperament, beauty, and environmental awareness.

Bench by the Water – GQ Shot

Sola sitting on the bench at the water’s edge is a perfect representation of her lineage: calm, poised, stunning, and fully aware of everything around her.

These are so mentally stable this line, they are great GQ dogs, Laura has some great pals.

River Hikes

Her river photos show her natural terrain reading—ears forward, posture balanced, scanning movement across the water and shoreline.

She is developing perfectly, Coho is a magnificent mentor.

Boat Shots

On the boat she is relaxed, confident, and connected. No anxiety, no over‑alertness—just the steady temperament that defines the Full Blood line.

Nice lifestyle for the Elkhounds, they have been on the water with the Vikings for Centuries.

General Life Photos

Every image reinforces the same theme: Sola is a stunning beauty with the correct working mind. Coho, equally photogenic, complements her perfectly.

Some seriously good Elkhounds there, Kamia Kennels bloodlines.

Lineage Context

Sola’s development is exactly what we expect from this lineage:

  • Kayley × ARCO Sixth‑generation maternal dynasty, deep stability, high intelligence, strong perimeter instincts.
  • Siblings: Murdock & Larsen Both showing exceptional early working behaviour in northern terrain.
  • Coho (Kai × Hachi) Earlier generation male from the same architectural line, providing ideal mentorship.

This is a continuation of the Kamia restoration architecture: multi‑generation stability, intact working behaviour, and real‑world instinct transfer.

Can’t beat that!

Stewardship Program Excellence

Laura and Nate have once again demonstrated why they are such valuable members of the Stewardship Program. Their environment, their understanding of the lineage, and their commitment to real working development make them the perfect placement for Sola.

She is thriving because the architecture is correct—and the stewardship is correct.

Sola and her buddy and mentor, Coho!

Conclusion

Sola is a standout female—fearless, intelligent, stunning, and already showing the full working architecture of her lineage. Her early videos and photos confirm what we knew from day one: she is a true Full Blood Elkhound, carrying forward the Kamia northern heritage with grace and power.

Sola, catching up some rest for another big day tomorrow, bears to stop, hikes to take!
